ESWT — Shock Wave Therapy

ESWT (Extracorporeal Shock Wave Therapy) applies acoustic waves to tissue through a device. It is particularly favoured for long-standing tendon and tendon-insertion complaints. Fizyoterapist Aydın Ali does not offer ESWT as a stand-alone solution; loading and strengthening exercises stay at the centre of the programme so the effect of the treatment lasts.

Physiotherapy applied to the foot and heel region

When is it needed?

  • Morning pain caused by heel spurs and plantar fasciitis
  • Tennis elbow and golfer's elbow
  • Achilles tendon complaints that have not resolved for a long time
  • Calcified tendon complaints in the shoulder
  • Chronic tendon pain that does not settle with rest

What we do

  • Assessment based on how long the complaint has lasted and where it is
  • The device dose adjusted to the individual
  • Planning the interval between sessions
  • Loading and strengthening exercises
  • Guidance on walking, footwear and daily load

ESWT (Shock Wave) in Bursa Nilüfer

Fizyoterapist Aydın Ali provides one-to-one care for eswt (shock wave) at the clinic in Bursa Nilüfer — in Fethiye Mahallesi, on Kelebek Sokak, at a central point of Nilüfer, opposite the Fethiye covered market.

It is a short trip by car or public transport from İhsaniye, Odunluk, Balat, Özlüce, Ataevler, 23 Nisan and the surrounding areas. Every session is one-to-one, assessment-based and tailored to you.

Who is it not suitable for?

ESWT is not applied in cases such as pregnancy, a bleeding disorder, active infection in the area to be treated, or suspected tumour. A detailed history is therefore taken before treatment, and a physician's opinion is sought where needed.

How many sessions are needed?

The number of sessions varies with how long the complaint has lasted and its location; typically a handful of sessions are planned with about a week's gap between them. The response is reassessed before each session.

Frequently asked questions

Is ESWT a painful treatment?

You may feel an impact sensation and some discomfort in the area during the application. The dose is set to what you can tolerate; if you feel discomfort, the intensity is lowered.

Can I exercise after the treatment?

Heavy loading is best avoided in the first days after treatment. When and at what intensity you can return is planned individually for you after assessment.
