Sports Injury Rehabilitation

Returning to sport too early is the single most common reason injuries repeat. Pain usually settles before strength does, and that gap is where re-injury happens. Fizyoterapist Aydın Ali bases the decision to return on measurement rather than on the calendar.

When is it needed?

  • Back/neck pain appearing during or after training
  • Pain triggered at a specific load, easing with rest
  • A visit put off out of fear of having to pause training
  • Training quality dropping because of pain
  • A recurring sense of strain in the same area

What we do

  • Identifying which movement and load brings on the pain
  • Pain management with manual therapy and ESWT where needed
  • Continuing training within a pain-free range
  • Returning to the previous training level through graded load increases
  • Regular re-assessment of the pain threshold

You may not need to stop completely

That's usually the first question athletes ask. In most cases the answer is no: a properly dosed programme reduces pain while also preventing a full loss of conditioning.

Fizyoterapist Aydın Ali first identifies which movement and which load brings on the pain. Manual therapy and, where needed, ESWT bring the pain down, while training continues within a pain-free range. That way the return picks up where you left off, rather than starting from zero.

Do you need to stop completely?

That's usually the first question athletes ask. In most cases the answer is no: a properly dosed programme reduces pain while also preventing a full loss of conditioning.

How is the pain-free range found?

Fizyoterapist Aydın Ali first identifies which movement and which load brings on the pain. Training is arranged to stay below that threshold; as the threshold rises, training load is increased gradually too.

Why doesn't the return start from zero?

Because training continues within a pain-free range, the loss of conditioning stays limited. Once the pain has gone, the return picks up where you left off — it doesn't start over from a programme paused for weeks.

Frequently asked questions

Is it harmful to keep training while in pain?

Not with the right movement and load; the programme is built within a range that doesn't trigger pain. The decision is made through individual assessment.

When do I return to training at full intensity?

As the pain threshold rises and progress is seen at regular assessments, load is increased gradually.

Does ESWT mean I have to stop training?

Usually not; ESWT is fitted into the training plan and doesn't require a full break.
